Bella Wedding Gown

This was inspired by the gowns of the mid 19th century. It is made of 100% silk taffeta imported from India. The bodice is interlined with fine cotton organdy (also from India) and lined with a light weight 100% silk. The bodice is fully boned and all of the edges are piped with narrow piping made with the same fabric as the gown. The front has a deep V point at the waist as well as at the back. The back closure has tiny hand sewn eyelets on either side for lacing up.

The skirt is pleated at the waist in large box pleats on the front, sides and hand gauged (tiny pleats hand sewn to the waistband) in the back. It has a long flowing train that can be bustled up for the reception. Note that the bustling is extra and I would recommend you getting it bustled by a local seamstress if you are not nearby. It's better to do this in-person, but if you have no one else that can do it, I can do it for an extra fee. If you are unfamiliar with what bustling is, basically it's sewing on several hooks and eyes or fasteners under the train so that it can be easily hooked up. There's quite a bit of material in the train, so this will take many hooks and eyes or fasteners to bustle up.

The hem has a white cord on the edge and the skirt is unlined, although you can get it with lining if you prefer.

This gown was worn over a hoopskirt (not provided) and looks best worn with a corset (not provided), although it is not required as it does have boning in the bodice. Since this gown is made up of fabric from natural fibers, it "breathes" very nicely and is actually quite cool to wear on a hot summer day.
