Keokuk Civil War Reenactment

This was one of our first reenactments as a group that we attended. Actually, we hadn't started our group until a few months later. After attending this reenactment, I had an idea about starting our own group. The day of this reenactment was a very wet rainy day! You might be able to tell from the bottom picture that we were soaked from walking around that day! We spent the rest of the afternoon in our hotel room washing our petticoats and dresses before the ball. Many of the girls didn't have ball gowns to wear, so the dresses they wore that day were all they had. It's a good thing there was a big dryer that we could use at the hotel room, or else I don't think our dresses would have ever been dry in time!
