Cotton Gathered Day Dresses

These are two very basic cotton gowns. The bodices are gathered to darted linings, knife pleated skirts and they both have coat sleeves, collars and cuffs. The first dress is a woven homespun while the second is a printed cotton. Cotton was more commonly gathered than darted, but it would usually be gathered over a fitted (darted) lining.
