Cream & White Striped Ball Gown

This ball gown has a square neckline with cap sleeves and white cotton voile undersleeves. The neckline and cap sleeves are trimmed with ruching cut on the bias. In the back there are hand worked eyelets and a cord made of the dress fabric for the closure. The fabric is silk.

 

 

 

This was inspired by the fashion plate from Peterson's magazine August, 1863 as well as another fashion plate from the same magazine January, 1861.
